Annual Conference 2015, 25-27 March // Registration is open!
We are very pleased to announce that the registration for the Annual ECHIC Conference 2015 is now open! The 5th Annual Conference will take place on 25-27 March 2015 and will be hosted by the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.
The first day of this year's gathering will discuss "civic humanities" with a focus on aspects of humanities related to human capacity to create commonality. An objective of the project is to build a network of institutes and civil institutions that work on this topic.
The second day will discuss the financing of humanities' research. At a time where public resources for R&D are scarce (particularly in Southern Europe), the conference will address and explore ways beyond the conventional financing mechanisms. The aim will be to expose and share specific cases and further discuss how ECHIC may serve to aid the financing of humanities research.
The programme includes keynotes, panel discussions and workshops that will explore the best practices presented by ECHIC members, as well as the main challenges and concrete strategies to tackle them. The conference will end with the Annual ECHIC Meeting.
The newly inaugurated Museum of Contemporary Art at the University of Navarra (set to open on the 22nd of January) will provide the setting for the conference.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference!
